Marion had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They put the hurt on the Carbondale Terriers with a sharp 7-1 win. The result was nothing new for Marion, who have now won nine contests by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Carbondale with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Carleigh Midgett (4), Kali Wallace (2), and Abbie Dalton.

Marion's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 26 goals over those four matchups. As for Carbondale, they moved to 9-7 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marion will host Notre Dame at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Carbondale, they will welcome Carterville at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Carbondale's defense better be ready for this one: Carterville have averaged an impressive 5.4 goals per game this season.
