On Saturday, Cross Schools had to suffer through a rough 64-28 loss at the hands of St. Joseph's Catholic. Cross Schools was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-16.
Cross Schools lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kiran Boggess, who scored nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Quintin Beasley, who scored three points along with six rebounds and three blocks.
This is the second loss in a row for Cross Schools and nudges their season record down to 3-5. As for St. Joseph's Catholic, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cross Schools has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Patrick Henry Academy at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th. Hopefully Patrick Henry Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Monday. As for St. Joseph's Catholic, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Blue Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Blue Ridge is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
