The Archbishop Curley Friars were the 66-54 winner over the Calvert Hall Cardinals when they last played one another back in November of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Archbishop Curley fell to the Cardinals 44-40. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Archbishop Curley has scored all season.
Brendan Johnson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Calvert Hall, scoring 21 points along with six rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Johnson has scored at least a third of Calvert Hall's points. Damir Tucker was another key contributor, scoring two points along with 11 steals.
Archbishop Curley's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Calvert Hall, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-15.
Archbishop Curley will head out on the road to take on the Admirals at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Severn School will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak. As for Calvert Hall, they and the Eagles will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 31st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. McDonogh is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
