The Woodsboro Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 58-41 to Port Aransas. Woodsboro lost against Port Aransas in their previous head to head back in February of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 87-42 score last time.
Despite the loss, Woodsboro still got an impressive performance from Taggart Silvas, who scored 18 points along with four steals and two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Zena, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Woodsboro bumped their record down to 7-19 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Port Aransas, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Yorktown the next time they take the court. Woodsboro will head out to face Yorktown at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Port Aransas will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
