Make it eight blowout wins for the West Potomac Wolverines this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Fairfax 72-35 at home. That's another feather in the cap for West Potomac, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Fairfax's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cameron Love, who scored 12 points. Ronier Peters was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five rebounds.
West Potomac is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Fairfax, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Potomac will face off against the Bruins at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lake Braddock will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 291st, while the Wolverines are ranked 41st). As for Fairfax, they will head out on the road to face off against the Cavaliers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Woodson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Thursday.
