The Randleman Tigers's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 68-50 victory over Oak Grove. For Randleman, this counts as revenge for the 50-47 loss Oak Grove walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.
Leading Randleman to victory were Connor Cassidy and Tyshaun Goldston. Cassidy scored 19 points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Goldston dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 rebounds. Those 25 points set a new season-high mark for him. Jireh Price was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Oak Grove's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of JB Shabazz, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds, and Dawson Whitaker who scored 18 points along with five rebounds. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristan Nunez, who scored five points along with four steals.
Randleman has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Oak Grove, they now have a losing record at 6-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Randleman will take on Southwestern Randolph at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Southwestern Randolph will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 485th, while Randleman is ranked 175th). As for Oak Grove, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Asheboro at 7:30 p.m. on January 5th. Asheboro is coming into the game hot, having won their last nine games.
