In what's become a running theme this season, DePaul Cristo Rey gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 59-8 win over School for Creative Performing Arts. The team ran away with 47 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those to pick up the victory.
DePaul Cristo Rey found their leader in underclassman Demitrice Pruett, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Pruett has scored all season. Nyeemah Pickens was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five steals.
The win (which was DePaul Cristo Rey's third in a row) raised their record to 11-4. As for School for Creative Performing Arts, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. DePaul Cristo Rey will take on Community Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for School for Creative Performing Arts, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Gamble Montessori at 6:00 p.m. Gamble Montessori's defense has only allowed 24.9 points per game this season, so School for Creative Performing Arts' offense will have their work cut out for them.
