Chloe Thornton made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Thornton was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs and one RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high.

Dupo always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .778. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Steeleville hadn't done well against Trico recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Warriors skirted past the Pioneers 4-2. While the Warriors didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Corinne Mueller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Zoey Wolf was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two RBI.
Dupo's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Steeleville, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5.
Steeleville's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Dupo has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .432. It's a different story for Steeleville, though, as they've only averaged .329. Will they be able to contain Dupo's hitters?
