In other batting news, Brianna Guerrero was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and four runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Kyla Carpio was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Phoenix Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .619. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .619 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Fountain Hills made easy work of Red Rock on Wednesday and carried off a 15-4 victory.
Fountain Hills got a massive performance out of Cynthia Espinoza, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Espinoza also got a hit, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Sammantha Hughes, who scored three runs while going 2-for-2.
Phoenix Christian's win bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Fountain Hills, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Phoenix Christian hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .338. However, it's not like Fountain Hills struggles in that department as they've averaged .368. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
