The New Brockton Gamecocks had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They secured a 30-26 W over Ashford on Friday. The victory was just what New Brockton needed coming off of a 41-12 loss in their prior match.
Several Yellowjackets players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Braylon Bigham, who rushed for 70 yards and a touchdown. Bigham was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 60 yards. Tylan Peterman was in the mix as well, providing Ashford with two touchdowns.
New Brockton's victory bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Ashford, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
New Brockton will be playing at home against Headland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Headland presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than New Brockton in Alabama (Headland is ranked 100th, while New Brockton is ranked 273rd). As for Ashford, they will head out on the road to face off against Northside Methodist Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Northside Methodist Academy is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
