Baseball Recap: North Moore's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

North Moore waltzed into their contest on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Everything went their way against The O'Neal School Falcons as they made off with a 14-2 win. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by six runs or more this season.

Beau Lambert and Aidan Corfios made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Lambert pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Corfios struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and not a single walk). At bat, Lambert scored a run while going 1-for-1, while Corfios scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Dalton Massey and Dawson Futrell did most of the damage at the plate: Massey went 1-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI, while Futrell scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. That home run was Massey's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of John Carre, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4.

North Moore pushed their record up to 6-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing nine hits in those games compared to only 4.57 in the others. As for The O'Neal School, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

Coming up, North Moore is taking a road trip to face off against Bartlett Yancey at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. North Moore is facing Bartlett Yancey at the right time seeing as Bartlett Yancey is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for The O'Neal School, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on North Moore at 4:00 p.m. on April 9.
