Neumann is 5-0 against Lemon Bay since December of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. Both teams will face off at 5:30 p.m. on December 28th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Neumann will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Neumann struggled with three-point shooting accuracy on Friday (Monsignor Pace was 30% better) and sadly the final score reflected it. Neumann was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 47-46 to Monsignor Pace. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Neumann has scored all season.
Neumann's loss came about despite a quality game from Sophia McCartney, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 19 rebounds. The match was McCartney's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Mylee Van de wouw, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Lemon Bay didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Myrtle Beach on Friday, but they still walked away with a 41-36 victory. The victory was just what Lemon Bay needed coming off of a 60-37 defeat in their prior match.
Neumann's defeat dropped their record down to 10-1. As for Lemon Bay, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.
Neumann strolled past Lemon Bay when the teams last played on December 8th by a score of 72-58. Will Neumann repeat their success, or does Lemon Bay have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
