The Carrollton Hawks will head out on the road to face off against the Greenfield/Northwestern Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Carrollton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, it was close, but Carrollton sidestepped Pittsfield-Griggsville-Perry for a 50-48 victory.
Lauren Flowers was her usual excellent self, scoring 26 points along with 7 steals and 6 rebounds. The match was her fifth in a row with at least ten points. Harper Darr was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Meanwhile, Greenfield/Northwestern's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They fell to Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia 39-33.
Carrollton now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Greenfield/Northwestern, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
Carrollton strolled past Greenfield/Northwestern when the teams last played back in December of 2022 by a score of 27-13. The rematch might be a little tougher for Carrollton since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
