Clay is 2-8 against Orange Park since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the Clay Blue Devils will get right back to it and host the Orange Park Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. Clay scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Ridgeview 82-44 at home. The win was a breath of fresh air for Clay as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Orange Park only won by three when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 42-point they dealt Ridgeview on Tuesday. Orange Park blew past Ridgeview 76-34 at home. Given Orange Park's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 213th, while Ridgeview is ranked 699th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Clay now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Orange Park, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 13-7 record this season.
Clay came out on top in a nail-biter against Orange Park in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, sneaking past 57-55. Does Clay have another victory up their sleeve, or will Orange Park turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
