Beallsville extended their losing streak to five on Monday, dropping their season record down to 2-11 in the process. They lost 22-3 to the Tyler Knights. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Blue Devils of the 11-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2022.
Beallsville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dalton Fulton, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That double was Fulton's first of the season. Another was Ryan Dornon, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with three stolen bases.
As for Tyler, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-10. Considering they have won seven matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
On Tyler's side, Brayden Neff and Gabe Jackson were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Neff tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Jackson tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. At bat, Neff went a perfect 3-for-3 with six stolen bases and four runs, while Jackson got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, four stolen bases, and three runs. Jackson has become a key player for Tyler: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 6-9 otherwise.
In other batting news, Tyler let Landon Boggs and Colby Nichols run wild. Boggs went a perfect 2-for-2 with five RBI, one run, and one double, while Nichols went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most hits Nichols has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Jackson, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Beallsville will host Frontier at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tyler, they will be playing at home against Braxton County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.78 runs per game on average), something the Knights will no doubt try to take advantage of.
