Cadence McIrvin made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with two runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, Riley Wilsted was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was McIrvin Aidan, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.
Tehachapi was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .568. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in 11 consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Kerman entered their tilt with Cabrillo on Friday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Conquistadores.
The team relied heavily on Kym Higareda, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Jaymee Hick was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI.
Tehachapi's record is now 17-10-1. As for Kerman, their record now sits at 18-7-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Tehachapi has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Kerman struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
