Northwest Whitfield unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dalton Catamounts on Thursday. The Bruins have struggled against the Catamounts recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Northwest Whitfield was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Dalton work for it, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 28-26.
Anjalee Lemons was the offensive standout of the game as she had seven assists and three aces. Those seven assists gave her a new career-high.
Coincidentally, Northwest Whitfield and Dalton will both be playing Coahulla Creek the next time they take the court. The Catamounts will head out to face the Colts at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Bruins will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
