Donovan is 0-10 against Beecher since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Donovan Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Beecher Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
The third road match was the charm for Donovan, as they earned their first road win of the season. They strolled past Momence with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 47-33.
Donovan relied on the efforts of Ty Miller, who scored 10 points along with 6 steals, and Griffen Walters, who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 15 rebounds. The matchup was Miller's third in a row with at least ten points. Jacob Onnen was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals.
Meanwhile, Beecher put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 64-34 win over Illinois Lutheran. Considering Beecher has won five matches by more than 20 points this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Their wins bumped Donovan to 3-4 and Momence to 1-6.
Donovan was taken down by Beecher 95-40 in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. Can Donovan avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
