The Edinburgh Lancers will head out to square off against the Eminence Eels at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Eminence will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Edinburgh extended their winning streak to three on Friday. The Lancers put the hurt on South Decatur with a sharp 14-4 win. That's two games straight that the Lancers have won by exactly ten runs.

Kenna Streeval was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out 13 batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Shyla Watt was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Gracie Barrett also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Edinburgh was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .483. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .303 or higher in six consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Eminence). Their pitcher stepped up to hand Irvington Preparatory Academy a 19-0 shutout on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Eels in their matchups with Irvington Preparatory Academy: they've now won five in a row.
Like Edinburgh, Eminence also got a great game from a two-way player: Emma Webb. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. Webb was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, Eminence got a massive performance out of Khloee Kirk, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two doubles. What's more, Kirk posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Jillian Henderson was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one triple.
Edinburgh's record is now 6-3. As for Eminence, their record now sits at 2-3.
Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Edinburgh hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .366. However, it's not like Eminence struggles in that department as they've averaged .364. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Edinburgh took their win against Eminence in their previous matchup back in April of 2022 by a conclusive 7-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lancers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
