Two dominant guards in Georgia Bates and Peyton Mounce are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Benjamin Logan Raiders are on the road again on Wednesday and play against the Urbana Hillclimbers at 7:30 p.m. on December 27th. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Benjamin Logan beat Indian Lake 46-34.
Meanwhile, Urbana had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 43.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They blew past London 58-21 at home. The result was nothing new for Urbana, who have now won six matches by 21 points or more so far this season.
Urbana relied on the efforts of Alexandra Dixon, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and six assists, and Mounce, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists. The game was Mounce's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Lola Rice was another key contributor, scoring two points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Benjamin Logan is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Urbana, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.
Benjamin Logan came up short against Urbana in their previous matchup back in January, falling 44-31. Can Benjamin Logan avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
