The Foard Tigers will face off against the North Iredell Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Having struggled with six losses in a row, Foard turned things around against Bunker Hill on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Bears by a score of 11-8.

The team relied heavily on Landon Setzer, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. He has become a key player for Foard: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-15 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Duckworth, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
Foard always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .618. The last time their OBP was this high was back in May of 2024.
Meanwhile, North Iredell had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 13-6 margin over the Greyhounds. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.
Jay Brookshire made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, Will Oehler was incredible, firing off two home runs, three RBI, and one double while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Thomas Shumaker, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
North Iredell's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-3. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Foard, their victory bumped their record up to 5-15.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Foard has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like North Iredell struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Foard took their win against North Iredell in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 9-3 score. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
