Episcopal's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ava Sawi, who scored 28 points along with five steals. Princess Akojenu was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds.
Madeira's loss was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-9. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.2 points per game. As for Episcopal, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Madeira will take on the at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Episcopal, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd.
