The Plainfield Quakers will head out on the road to square off against the Indian Creek Braves at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Indian Creek took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Plainfield, who comes in off a win.
On Thursday, Plainfield made easy work of Greenwood and carried off a 12-3 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Quakers.
Luke Warriner looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Plainfield is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 9-11 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Zach Rhoden was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Plainfield's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 7-11 when he doesn't). Drew White also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Plainfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April.
Whiteland hit Indian Creek with a four-run second inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Braves fell 11-7 to the Warriors. The Braves' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Elijah Guyer made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Plainfield's victory bumped their record up to 14-11. As for Indian Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 12-8.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Plainfield has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Indian Creek struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Plainfield's way against Indian Creek when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Plainfield made off with a 10-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Quakers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
