After flying high against the Poudre Impalas on Friday, the Broomfield Eagles came back down to earth. Broomfield fell just short of Legacy by a score of 53-50. It was the first time this season that Broomfield let down their fans at home.
When it comes to explaining why Broomfield lost on Saturday, one person who can't be blamed is Joey Cook. Despite the final result, he scored 15 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Cook hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Andrew Effland was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals.
It was another big night for Ari Harpring, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds for Legacy. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Harpring has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Joey Delescinskis, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Broomfield's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-5. As for Legacy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-6.
Broomfield and Rocky Mountain will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
