The Montgomery County Wildcats were the 27-21 winner over the Hermann Bearcats when they last played one another back in August, but their luck changed this time around. Montgomery County took a 27-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hermann on Friday. Montgomery County has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Although Montgomery County took the loss, they still got scores from Jacob Hogue and Dayton Simmons.
Hermann was led to victory by Daeden Hopkins and Caden Humphrey. Hopkins picked up 91 receiving yards and a touchdown, while Humphrey gained 151 total yards.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Montgomery County to a paltry 237 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Hermann's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out three times before it was all said and done. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Hopkins.
Montgomery County's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Hermann, their win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-3.
Montgomery County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Hermann will face off against Lift for Life Academy at TBD on Friday. Lift for Life Academy will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
