Last Thursday, Riverside was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 73-68 to STEMCivics. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Wednesday (60), Riverside still had to take the loss.
Meanwhile, Doane Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They took a 71-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of Medford Tech. Doane Academy has not had much luck with Medford Tech recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
This is the second loss in a row for Riverside and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for Doane Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
Riverside suffered a grim 78-56 defeat to Doane Academy when the teams last played back in February of 2022. Can Riverside avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
