The Bosque Bobcats scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They walked away with a 54-44 victory over Hozho Academy. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Bosque as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Bosque's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lena Chavez led the charge by scoring 16 points along with seven rebounds. It was the first time this season that Chavez scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Ainsley Capps, who scored 16 points.
Bosque's win bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Hozho Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bosque will take on the Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Socorro is no doubt hoping to put an end to an 11-game streak of away losses. As for Hozho Academy, they will play host again and welcome the Cardinals, where tip off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Corona/Vaughn will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
