Basketball Game Preview: Indian Creek Braves vs. South Putnam Eagles

Indian Creek is a perfect 3-0 against South Putnam since February of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Indian Creek Braves will host the South Putnam Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Saturday, Indian Creek didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Sullivan, but they still walked away with a 65-59 win. The Braves have beaten the Golden Arrows the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Golden Arrows has come to flipping the script.

Meanwhile, South Putnam was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 59-55 heartbreaker at the hands of Owen Valley.

Indian Creek will need to focus on slowing down Wyatt Switzer, one of several South Putnam players who made an impact when they last played. He dropped a double-double with 15 points and 12 boards. That's the most points Switzer has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Isaac Garner, who on his way to 16 points and six rebounds.

Even though they lost, South Putnam smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in eight consecutive matches.

South Putnam's loss dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Indian Creek, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.
