The biggest upset of the week belonged to Grayson County, who took down 151st ranked Graham, 36-17.
Dyon Rosser and Justin Stevers provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Campbell. The connection went for 69 yards, the longest such play in A Western this season.
Gretna's dynamic duo of Rosser and Von Bennett proved tough for the Generals to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Rosser threw for 86 yards and one touchdown and Bennett had 69 yards receiving. Will Lilly helped Gretna's passing attack out by catching one ball for 13 yards.
Dee McMoore was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 14 carries, he ran for 142 yards as Dan River defeated Campbell. Deundrae Gregory also contributed to the rushing game with 68 yards on the ground.
Gretna's Rosser and Bennett have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Rosser has thrown for 1170 yards this season, while Bennett, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 21 catches for 422 yards. Walker's Cody Cain leads the league in rushing yards with 756.
A big matchup in A Western this week will be when Clintwood takes on Burton. The Green Wave are in ninth place, while the Black Raiders are in 10th place.
There should be lots of points scored when the Wildcats and Appomattox County face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Dan River comes in having scored 222 this season, while the Raiders have scored 181. Ferrell Edmunds' team scored 59 points last week as it bested Nelson County.
Battle extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Gate City, 21-14. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
