Cuyahoga Heights has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Keystone Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Saturday, Cuyahoga Heights made easy work of Harvey and carried off a 50-24 win. Given Cuyahoga Heights' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 186th, while Harvey is ranked 662nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Keystone put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They really took it to Clearview for the full four quarters, racking up a 58-17 win at home.
Keystone got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Vivian Cassell out in front who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Cassell has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played. Jessica Forthofer was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Cuyahoga Heights pushed their record up to 7-1 with that victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Keystone, their win bumped their record up to 9-0.
