The Trico Pioneers will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Wayne City Indians at 12:00 p.m. Wayne City took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Trico, who comes in off a win.
Last Monday, Trico humbled Shawnee with a 46-16 victory.
Trico's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Greta Jones, who scored 11 points along with seven steals and five assists, and Taylor Cottom, who scored 26 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cottom has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaelyn Kranawetter, who scored two points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Wayne City's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They were beaten by Mt. Carmel 57-23. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Wayne City in their matchups with Mt. Carmel: they've now lost five in a row.
Trico's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-14. As for Wayne City, their defeat was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-21.
