The biggest upset of the week belonged to Shepherd, who took down 309th ranked Hargrave, 41-36.
Splendora moved up to 732 from 839 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 3A Region III District 22. The Wildcats were able to make move up by topping Tarkington 41-6.
The Falcons' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Cody Gaitan threw for 51 and two touchdowns and Darian Gray had 104 yards receiving. On the ground Gray chipped in 137 yards. Corey Spray helped Hargrave's passing attack out by catching three balls for 26 yards.
Hargrave's Preston Townley and Gray have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Townley has thrown for 2091 yards this season, while Gray, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 46 catches for 607 yards. Cleveland's Brandon Foster leads the league in rushing yards with 513.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Coldspring-Oakhurst takes on second place Cleveland. Last week, Coldspring-Oakhurst defeated Liberty, while the Indians.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Cleveland takes on the Trojans. Clayton Maple's team has allowed 108 points this season, while Coldspring-Oakhurst has given up 156.
Bryan Barbay's team extended the longest winning streak in 3A Region III District 22 this week by beating the Panthers, 68-16. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Trojans.
