The Gainesville Christian Community Warriors won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Saturday. They had to suffer through a rough 76-28 loss at the hands of Eastside. While losing is never fun, Gainesville Christian Community can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 805th, while the Rams are ranked 389th).
Eastside found their leader in underclassman Gage Webber, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Webber pulled down eight or more rebounds. Lemarion Houston was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds.
Gainesville Christian Community has not been sharp recently as the team's lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. As for Eastside, their win bumped their record up to 6-16.
Gainesville Christian Community will head out on the road to take on the Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. First Christian is on a three-game streak of home losses, the Warriors a seven-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Eastside will take on the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
