Lauren Pfeiffer was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellie Millner, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.
Inter-City Baptist kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.8 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 16.6.
Meanwhile, Plymouth Christian Academy made easy work of Lutheran on Monday and carried off a 16-1 win. Considering the Eagles have won 17 games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Clara Groen made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and only one walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Chloe Paryaski, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Olivia Botosan, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Inter-City Baptist now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Plymouth Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 22-9.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Inter-City Baptist has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.3 hits per game. However, it's not like Plymouth Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.3 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
