The Wilburton Diggers's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Heavener Wolves at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Wilburton will be strutting in after a win while Heavener will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Wilburton beat Stigler 54-48. The win was just what Wilburton needed coming off of a 91-48 defeat in their prior game.
Heavener suffered their biggest defeat since December 14, 2023 on Tuesday. They took a serious blow against Pocola, falling 73-45. Heavener has not had much luck with Pocola recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Despite the loss, Heavener got a solid performance out of Bryce Morrison, who scored 15 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Zaid Rodriguez, who scored eight points.
Wilburton's victory bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Heavener, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.
Wilburton was dealt a bruising 58-26 defeat at the hands of Heavener in their previous matchup on January 2nd. Can Wilburton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
