Ferguson and Palmetto are an even 4-4-1 against one another since March of 2020, but likely not for long. The Falcons will look to defend their home field on Monday against the Panthers at 3:30 p.m.
Ferguson fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against iMater Charter on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 4-3.

Jose Rijo was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. He has become a key player for Ferguson: the team is 5-2 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 3-9 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Ferguson saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jio Muguercia, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases.
Meanwhile, while Palmetto put up plenty of runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Dr. Krop. The Panthers put the hurt on the Lightning with a sharp 12-0 victory. The game marked the Panthers' most dominant win of the season.
Ethan Fraginals made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other pitching news, Fernando Gutierrez looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Christian Dixon was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Donovan Moore was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Palmetto was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Ferguson's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-11. As for Palmetto, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.
Ferguson was able to grind out a solid win over Palmetto in their previous meeting back in March of 2025, winning 10-6. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
