Softball Recap: Melba Wins Going Away Against Vision

Melba played in-conference for the first time on Monday and got just the result they were looking for. They blew past Vision 16-5. The win continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with Vision: they've now won four in a row.

Kali Adams made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off only one hit. That hit was her first of the season. She was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Melba got a massive performance out of Kodi Adams, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Adams continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Olivia Atack was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

Melba was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .486. The last time their batting average was this high was was before the start of last season.

Melba's record now sits at 3-5. As for Vision, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Melba is taking a road trip to take on Parma at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mustangs will need to watch out since the Panthers have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups. As for Vision, they will be playing at home against Nampa Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Trojans will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Vision surely won't give up without a fight.
