The Broadalbin-Perth Patriots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a hard 70-51 fall against Amsterdam. While losing is never fun, Broadalbin-Perth can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 327th, while Amsterdam is ranked 57th).
Amsterdam was led to victory by Caleb Miller and Rocco Natale. Miller scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and four steals, while Natale scored 16 points along with six assists. That's the first time this season that Miller grabbed two or more steals. Another player making a difference was Luis Tirado, who scored seven points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Broadalbin-Perth's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Amsterdam, their win was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1.
Broadalbin-Perth will challenge Scotia-Glenville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Scotia-Glenville and Broadalbin-Perth are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. Amsterdam will be home for the holidays to greet Queensbury at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Queensbury is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
