The Holmes County Blue Devils will venture away from home to square off against the Branford Buccaneers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Holmes County has given up an average of 6.8 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Jaycee Bowers was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.
Branford never got on the board in their matchup on Monday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Dixie County on Tuesday. They blew past the Bears 11-1. The Buccaneers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by nine runs or more this season.
The team relied heavily on Victoria Swain, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. Mallory Blue was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Branford pushed their record up to 13-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Holmes County, they now have a losing record of 6-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Holmes County has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Branford struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
