Adair County and Casey County are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2016, but likely not for long. The Indians will welcome the Rebels at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Adair County will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Adair County came out on top against Monroe County on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fourth inning. The Indians walked away with a 9-4 victory over the Falcons. The win continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won six in a row.
Jazalynn Young was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Young was even better at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Allee Campbell, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Callee White, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.
Adair County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .382. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Casey County sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over Somerset on Thursday. That's two games straight that the Rebels have won by exactly two runs.
Like Adair County, Casey County also got a great game from a two-way player: Harmony Meece/Richardson. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Meece/Richardson has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Elizabeth Forbes was excellent, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Mia Price was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Casey County's win bumped their record up to 15-9. As for Adair County, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Adair County hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Casey County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.5 home runs.
