The Pompano Beach Golden Tornadoes kicked off their season on the road on Saturday and hit a couple of potholes. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 68-44 walloping at the hands of Westminster Christian.
Several Golden Tornadoes players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mason Rowan, who scored 14 points along with 5 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonathan Berwig, who scored 10 points along with 5 assists.
Pompano Beach's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Westminster Christian, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Pompano Beach will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Deerfield Beach at 7:30 p.m. As for Westminster Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Somerset Academy South Homestead at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
