Softball Recap: Chavez Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Chavez, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They were the clear victor by an 11-3 margin over the Chatsworth Chancellors on Monday.

Gabby Duran spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Alyssa Anaya, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Billingsly, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Anaya wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Chavez lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Chavez's record is now 2-4. As for Chatsworth, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Chavez wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 16-7 defeat against Venice on the 7th. As for Chatsworth, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 6-1 loss against Sierra Canyon on the 7th.
