Arvada West is 1-9 against Columbine since October of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Wildcats will take on the Rebels at 6:30 p.m.
On Thursday, Arvada West came up short against Chatfield and fell 3-1.
Arvada West couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Chatfield a tough time in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 31-29, 20-25, 25-21.
Arvada West's defeat came about despite a quality game from Addie Allen, who had 15 digs and four assists.
Meanwhile, Columbine was able to grind out a solid win over Golden on Thursday, taking the game 3-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rebels.
Columbine was especially dominant in the first set. The final score came out to 25-10, 21-25, 26-24, 25-21.
The loss was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 10-7. As for Columbine, their victory bumped their record up to 13-3.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's contest: Arvada West has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 8.5 aces per game. However, it's not like Columbine struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.4 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Arvada West skirted past Columbine 3-2 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
