The Rensselaer Central Bombers had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They claimed a resounding 42-13 victory over Griffith on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-0.
Diego Hernandez-Reyes continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 163 yards and two touchdowns, while also catching a touchdown. Hernandez-Reyes definitely has the trust of the coaching staff as he's now carried the ball at least 25 times in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Carter Ogborn, who rushed for 73 yards and a touchdown on only five carries.
Rensselaer Central's victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 6-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 49.3 points per game. As for Griffith, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.
Rensselaer Central will be playing in front of their home fans against West Lafayette at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West Lafayette is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Griffith does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
