Manti has gone 8-1 against South Sevier recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Templars will square off against the Rams at 3:30 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Manti not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 11th (when they won 9-2). Everything went their way against Richfield as they made off with an 18-11 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Templars considering their one-run performance the matchup before.
Danie Alder was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and six unearned) runs off 11 hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 4-for-6 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last 11 games.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Dakoda Cheney, who went 4-for-6 with one home run, seven RBI, and two runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Daniels, who went 3-for-6 with four runs, one double, and one RBI.
Manti kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 22 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, South Sevier waltzed into their contest on Friday with 23 straight wins... but they left with 24. Everything went their way against the Eagles as they made off with a 16-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won 14 matches by seven runs or more so far this season.
Kaitlyn Lynch made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Lynch was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Caitlin Nielson was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. She continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kinley Phelps, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
South Sevier pushed their record up to 24-1 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.1 runs over those games. As for Manti, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-17 record.
Manti took their victory against South Sevier in their previous meeting back in March of 2019 by a conclusive 11-2 score. Will the Templars repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
