Antelope is 0-8 against Bagdad since April of 2021 but things could change on Saturday. The Rams will face off against the Sultans at 11:00 a.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Antelope took a loss when they played away from home last Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They came out on top against Maryvale Prep by a score of 11-1 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Rams considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Sebastian Solis was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Sebastian Marquez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
Antelope was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Bagdad waltzed into their contest on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They were the clear victors by a 15-6 margin over the Eagles. The Sultans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 games by six runs or more this season.
Michael Langston made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carson Wood, who fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Rowdy Hooper, who went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Bagdad pushed their record up to 20-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Antelope, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-9.
Antelope might still be hurting after the 17-0 defeat they got from Bagdad in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
