Even though the Judge Memorial Catholic Bulldogs scored an imposing 70 points on Tuesday, the Hunter Wolverines still came out on top. Hunter sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 72-70 victory over Judge Memorial Catholic. The win made it back-to-back wins for Hunter.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hunter to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dominick Phannolath, who scored 32 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Phannolath has scored at least 25% of Hunter's points. Another player making a difference was Zaquel Cossa, who scored 21 points.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jj Apathjang, who scored 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Deng Deng, who scored 14 points.
The victory got Hunter back to even at 2-2. As for Judge Memorial Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.
Hunter has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome East at 7:00 p.m. on December 7th. As for Judge Memorial Catholic, they will head out on the road to face off against Orem at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Orem focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Tuesday.
