The Huntley Red Raiders came tearing into Friday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 points) and they left with even more momentum. They managed a 73-68 victory over Central. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the loss, Central still got an impressive performance from Myles Lowe, who scored 24 points along with five rebounds. Lj Kerr was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Huntley is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season. As for Central, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 17-9.
Huntley will be playing in front of their home fans against the Gators at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Crystal Lake South is looking to tack on another W to their eight-game streak on the road. As for Central, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Panthers at 2:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Oswego will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 375th, while the Rockets are ranked 136th).
