Softball Game Preview: Calallen Wildcats vs. Tuloso-Midway Warriors & Cherokees

Calallen has gone 9-1 against Tuloso-Midway recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. Calallen will be playing in front of their home fans against Tuloso-Midway at 7:00 p.m. Calallen will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

Tuloso-Midway's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Friday: Calallen hadn't allowed a single run the last four times they've hit the field. Calallen never let Robstown get on the board and left with a 14-0 victory on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won 12 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Brookelynn Meador, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run and four runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylie Lopez, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs.

Calallen kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in seven consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Tuloso-Midway scored first but ultimately less than Robstown in their game on Tuesday. They fell 5-2 to the Cottonpickers.

Calallen's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-4. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Tuloso-Midway, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 14-8-1.

Calallen took their win against Tuloso-Midway in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 15-0. Will Calallen repeat their success, or does Tuloso-Midway has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
