Having just played yesterday, the Rock Port Blue Jays will head out on the road to face off against the King City Wildkats at 5:30 p.m. on January 18th. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Rock Port has nine straight wins, King City has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Wednesday, Rock Port didn't have too much trouble with DeKalb on the road as they won 59-43. Given Rock Port's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 223rd, while DeKalb is ranked 525th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Bannack Skillen, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jack Meyerkorth, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds.
King City might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 51-41 to North Nodaway, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.
Rock Port has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for King City, they bumped their record down to 5-11 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home.
